Sifu Kul is Schools of Kung Fu by IWKA England National Instructor and works very closely with Sifu Alan Paterson, UK Chief Instructor for Schools of Kung Fu. The two share a long history in Wing Chun going back over 20 years and now work very closely together to develop Schools of Kung Fu in the United Kingdom.

Like many Sifu Kul’s journey into Martial Arts began with an obsession with Bruce Lee and Hong Kong cinema.  It was under his father’s influence that he began with Karate under the Ishin Ryu banner, which his father also belonged to.  But being young, this didn’t last many years, but the seed of passion for the martial arts was planted and then over the years he studied many different disciplines ranging from western kickboxing and number of different budo styles to a few Chinese kung fu disciplines.

It was at the time when he reached university along with his fellow classmate, he was introduced to Wing Chun Kung Fu.  His fellow classmate had recommended trying the session as he had read in Bruce Lee’s book that his main influence had been Wing Chun.

Sifu Kul’s found a school in his hometown that ran classes on Friday evenings which was part of the EWTO where he travelled and attended seminars in Europe such as Germany and Italy which is where he met Sifu Alan.

In 2005 Sifu Kul became and assistant instructor and after consistent training and self development qualified as a lead instructor for Childrens and adult classes. Sifu Kul set up his own satellite locations in in Chelmsford and Loughton Essex where he taught a wide range of students from four years to seventy plus years!

Along with the classes there was many other events and charities that Sifu Kul was involved in throughout the Essex area such as BBC Essex roadshow in Chelmsford, After School clubs in Woodford, Primary School workshops in Loughton and throughout Essex.  Still to this day Sifu Kul is actively working with several community groups, schools and even the local councils running workshops, demonstrations and talks to show people the benefits of martial arts.

Having recently held anti knife crime events and women empowerment workshops as well showing the benefits of Chinese martial arts to newer generation of children.

In August 2016 Sifu Kul Joined Sifu Sergio (Chief Instructor of the IWKA) for greater personal development in his Wing Chun Kung Fu and in October 2016 Sifu Kul helped set up the UK branch of the then IWKA.  And it was not long after this that Sifu Kul and Sifu Alan (School of Kung Fu) reconnected.

In 2021 Sifu Sergio Pascal Iadarola decided to merge the IWKA with School of Kung Fu and Schools of Kung Fu by IWKA was born.

Sifu Kul regularly trains with Sifu Alan Paterson at Schools of Kung Fu HQ in Croydon, attends seminars taken by Sifu Sergio in the UK and Europe and also attends the Eternal Spring Institute in Maderia Portugal which is Sifu Sergio’s European headquarters
